Do You Have a Road Map to Real Estate Investing Success?

Prospective investors that want to learn how to succeed at real estate investing have an interesting problem. On one hand, it is very easy to find books and material on the internet that focuses on the subject. On the other hand, the vast majority of this material falls short in providing anything close to a road map that can guide these prospective investors to success. These real estate information sources often excite the would-be real estate investor about the prospects and rewards of real estate investing. However, these sources seldom provide the person with detailed knowledge on how to actually go about it. If someone told these prospective investors what to do next they would do it!   The person wanting to invest in real estate is brimming with enthusiasm, but this enthusiasm quickly turns into frustration.

The problem with most educational sources on real estate investing fall into one of two categories:

1) The material is generally motivational in its nature. This type of material is excellent in pointing out the rewards of real estate investing. This material often goes to great lengths in pointing out how easy it can be, giving examples on how the author or others have done it. The educational content in this material revolves around generalized principles rather than specific details. It is great at demonstrating that you can start with nothing and become wealthy, but does very little to show you what steps you need to take between the starting and end points.

2) The other problem that prospective real estate investors have deals with partial information.  When these prospective investors do find information that goes beyond simple generalized material, it usually only provides a small snapshot of what is needed to succeed.  They may find material on why short sales or lease options can be profitable, but the material does little to explain the steps that are needed to be successful at these strategies. They may find material demonstrating how to do evaluations of properties, but this material lacks context on how to profit from these properties once the proper evaluation is made.

I agree with problem diagnosis for investing in real estate; end user does not have direct source to information and partial information has been served which lead to should take a note of it.
